21st Century Home Health Services is currently seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our esteemed team. As a crucial member of our finance department, the ideal candidate will possess a minimum of five years of experience in preparing financial statements, journal entries, and reconciliations, as well as supporting month-end and year-end close processes. The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures. The successful candidate will support internal customers, manage day-to-day accounting activities, identify opportunities for process improvement, and provide mentorship to staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timely financial reporting.
  • Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate records of financial transactions.
  • Maintain and reconcile fixed assets schedules to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Record payroll accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for monthly COGS entries
  • Reconcile and balance general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare monthly close by reconciling assigned Balance Sheet accounts.
  • Collect and analyze bonus data, quotas, and performance metrics to calculate and prepare quarterly employee bonuses. This includes compiling relevant data from various software applications and assessing bonus achievement against established targets.
  • Realize compliance with corporate accounting policies and procedures and controls.
  • Assist with budget preparation and analyze monthly variances.
  • Manage and process employee expenses according to company policies.
  • Assist with initial internal control evaluations to identify and address potential risks.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements.
  • Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA and/or Masters in Accounting preferred.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with sales representatives and stakeholders, with a customer service mindset.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of financial and accounting principles related to commissions.
  • Self-directed and able to achieve objectives with minimal management input.
  • Understanding of corporate department objectives and functions.
  • Strong team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of relevant legal and compliance requirements of compensation.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
  • Experience with financial reporting standards and regulatory compliance.
